Has anyone seen my dragon?

Beware!  Beware!  Dragons are hiding everywhere!

Has anyone seen my dragon?

We have been diving into poetry this term, reading a range of dragon themed poems, riddles and rhymes.  We have been particulary enjoying James Carter's poem entitled, 'Has anyone seen my dragon?  Together, we imagined where a missing dragon might be, where it might hide and how it might be found.  We used these ideas to help us write our own version of a missing dragon poem.  Some of our ideas were very amusing, for example did you know that a dragon could fit in a fridge, fly a jumbo jet or grow a beard?  Children worked hard to draft, edit and then improve their poems.   Read some of our poems below!

Has anyone seen my dragon?  by Emily (age 6)

Has anyone seen my dragon?

Tall and taily, long legs and knobbly knees

I hope she's not forgotten her lunch, stuck up in a tree.

Oh where could she be?

Come on Lilly, come home to me!

Has anyone seen my dragon?  by Bob (age 6)

Has anyone seen my dragon?

I hope he is not in prison, munching and crunching his guards!

Mighty Steel Crusher is big and strong with a tail that is very long,

I hope that he is safe and sound and that he will soon be found.

Has anyone seen my dragon?

Fire-Breath is red and her eyes are red too,

She is rude and big and definitely smelly.

Her spikes are like needles because they are sharp,

and her feet are bigger than a house!

Please bring her back to me.

Has anyone seen my dragon?

Cute and tall and squidgy to ride, Rock Smasher is colourful and easy to see.

I hope he is found soon.

Is he lost in a cave sad without me?  I miss him a lot!
