Road Safety.
This morning, 24th May, Gist came in to talk to us about lorries and road safety.
We learned that a lorry weighs 44 tonnes, the equivalent of 76 cows and is large enough to hold 22,000 sandwiches. This was to introduce the idea that a large, heavy vehicle took a long time to stop.
We also learned that a lorry has blind spots and that if you stand in front of it, the driver can't see you. A lorry has a stopping distance of 25 metres.
