Summer 1

This half term we are learning all about Mexico.

In geography we will be developing our map skills locating Mexico and learning all about its location. We will be learning about life Mexico and comparing this to life in the UK. We will be developing our understanding of human and physical features and looking at the climate and weather patterns in Mexico.

In science we are learning all about plants. We will be learning about the parts of the plant and the important jobs they do. We will also look at the life cycle of plants and develop our understanding of how plants grow.

In RE we will be looking at stories from the Old Testament and what they teach us about God.

In maths we will be learning all about measurement and statistics, as well as working on securing our arithmetic skills.

In English we will be working on retelling a traditional Mexican tale. The text we are studying in 'The Little Red Ant and the great big crumb' by Shirley Climo. We will be using the text to develop our descriptive skills.

In art we will be looking at different forms of Mexican art.

Computing this half term will look at creating and debugging programs.
