Medieval Day

On Monday13th July, Class Three celebrated the end of their summer topic with a Medieval Challenge Day.

Children participated in a range of challenge activities throughout the day including designing and building a medieval castles, complete with defensive features, out of biscuits, cutting and folding a dragon mask, building and testing a model trebuche and performing Kenn Nesbitt's poem entitled, "There's a dragon in the playground". Maths, reading and literacy problem solving challenges were carefully threaded into each challenge activity, allowing children to apply the skills learnt in the classroom to practical problem solving activities.

Children dressed in medieval costume to celebrate the day.
