Viking Brooches

In preparation for our upcoming Viking day students in class four have been researching, designing and making their very own viking brooches. 

We discovered that brooches had a functional purpose in Viking times and were often used to hold cloaks or ladies dresses. Additionally, we explored different styles which were popular during the Viking period including oval and trefoil.
