Autumn 2024
Welcome from EYFS
Our theme for the upcoming term is 'Marvellous Me'. We will be exploring fascinating facts about our families, friends, community and most importantly, ourselves. We believe that understanding and celebrating our individuality is the foundation for a strong sense of identity and self-worth.
As the term progresses, we will delve into the enchanting world of Harvest and all things Autumnal. From colourful leaves to bountiful harvests, there is so much to discover and appreciate during this season.
The first term is always a whirlwind of excitement and anticipation. We cannot wait to kickstart your child's school journey and work closely with you to ensure it is a rewarding and memorable experience for all.
Thank you for choosing our school to be the beginning of your child's educational journey. We look forward to the year ahead and the adventures that await us. Let's make this first term of learning a truly marvellous one together!
September 2024
We are pleased to share that the children have had an amazing start to the school year! Over the past few weeks, they have settled in beautifully, forging friendships and adapting to new routines with ease. Our current topic, "Marvellous Me," has allowed the children to shine as they demonstrate their skills in sharing and collaboration.
Recently, we took a delightful community walk, where the children enjoyed discussing the people and places that hold significance in their lives. In maths, they have been actively sorting and matching objects, and more recently, they have begun exploring the concepts of heavier and lighter.
Our outdoor learning sessions have also been a source of joy, as the children have created enchanting wands and delightful green man clay faces. We look forward to continuing this exciting journey together and appreciate your ongoing support!
October 2024
The children have been investigating shapes. We have been painting circles in the style of Kandinsky.
We took our first class trip to Brocksbushes Farm to go pumpkin picking. It was so much fun looking for the best pumpkin, some of us chose big ones, some of us chose small ones and we even discovered white pumpkins too!
We used our pumpkins to create pumpkin soup, we chopped, cooked, blended and sipped delicious creamy soup! Yum yum!
November 2024
This half term we are focusing on Celebrations such as Diwali, Bonfire Night, Remembrance Day, then moving onto the themes of Space and Christmas.
We’ve learnt that Diwali is the festival of light so created our very own clay Diyas to light the way.
As part of our bonfire night celebrations we made edible sparklers using chocolate, breadsticks and sprinkles! We also practiced our cutting skills to create firework pictures from cupcake cases.
As a class we observed the 2 minute silence and then reflected by creating our own poppy field pictures.
The children got a big surprise today when they came to school to find out we now have class pets. Choc and Chip the Guinea Pigs. We have been enjoying caring for them and giving them lots of cuddles.
In Maths we have been working through our Mastering Number work and focusing on subitising. Children have been learning how to recognize quantities through playing our magic tray game.
