Safeguarding
Rockcliffe CE School is committed to safeguarding and promoting the welfare of children and expects all staff and volunteers to share this commitment. All of the staff have regular safeguarding training.
We have a number of policies and procedures in place that contribute to our safeguarding commitment, including our Child Protection Policy. Sometimes we may need to share information and work in partnership with other agencies, when there are concerns about a child's welfare. We will ensure that our concerns about our pupils are discussed with parents/carers first, unless we have reason to believe that such a move would be contrary to the child's safety and welfare.
We actively support the Government's Prevent Agenda to counter radicalism and extremism.
Our Designated Safeguarding Lead is Mrs Jamieson. Our Deputy Designated Safeguarding Lead is Mrs Jones (SENDCO). These staff are fully trained to deal with any safeguarding queries.
The Governor with responsibility for safeguarding in our school is Rebecca Burrow.
If you are a member of the public with a concern about a child please contact the Cumbria Safeguarding Hub on 0333 240 1727.
We work closely with Cumbria Police to ensure that ll children, both at home and at school, are safeguarded. We are part of Operation Encmpass which ensures that children who witness domestic violence and abuse are supported.
