ROCKCLIFFE CE PRIMARY SCHOOL

Summer 2025

Welcome back to our final term- The Summer Term!
We are hoping for lots of lovely weather to enjoy the outdoors as we explore a new range of topics in our curriculum.

In Geography, we will be looking at why energy sources are important and  understand the benefits and  drawbacks of different energy sources.energy sources.png

As part of our learning, we will look at how energy sources are distributed in an area while explaining reasoins for choosing a particular energy source.  Linking our learning, we will collect and present data for where solar panels may be located.    Exploring how environmental issues are being addressed by researching  people’s actions, will form a key focus for discussion.

In English, we will respond to the question-

What drives so many to leave everything behind and journey alone to a mysterious country, a place without family or friends, where everything is nameless and the future is unknown?  The Arrival, Shaun Tan is a silent graphic novel which is the story of every migrant, every refugee, and every displaced person, and a tribute to all those who have made the journey.

In Science,we will be studying Ourselves and other animals.  Year 4 and Year 5 will be taught separately to ensure accurate coverage.

PE will include Tennis and Orienteering so hopefully, the sun will be shining down on us!

Children will be completing Full Programme 2 of Kidsafe with Mrs Batey.  KS will continue to help the children with understanding how to cope with 'yukky feelings' in different contexts.

In RE, we will be focussing on St Paul and the Resurrection of Jesus Christ.
